Donald C Jamieson Academy


Donald C. Jamieson is a Kindergarten to Grade 7 School and is a part of the Burin Zone of the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District.

Our school is located in the town of Burin on the Burin Peninsula. It currently has an enrollment of 320 students and offers grades K to 7. Students attending DCJA come from the surrounding communities of Burin, Burin Bay Arm, Creston South, Epworth, Lewin’s Cove, Port aux Bras, Big Salmonier, Salt Pond, Winterland, Winterland Road, Fox Cove, Black Duck Cove, Mortier, Garnish, Frenchman’s Cove, and Marystown.

Our school’s motto, “A Nice Place To Learn

Our school mascot is the Jaguar.

Our school colors are white and blue.

Kinderstart Registration for September 2020

Please note that this registration is for students who will take part in Kinderstart this September, September 2020 who then would be automatically registered for Kindergarten the following year, September 2021.

Information regarding this registration is now posted on the NLESD web site at the following link:

The online registration process for students entering Kindergarten in 2021 for the Central region will take place on May 11, 2020, starting at 9:00 am and continuing until May 12, 2020 at 9:00 pm.
